چکیده

The Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCF) + Co3O4 composite material is evaluated as a cathode for proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells (H-SOFCs), which provides new strategy to solve the thermal mismatch problem between and electrolyte without impairing performance. BSCF well-known intermediate-temperature SOFCs, but its performance H-SOFCs unsatisfactory. One reason relatively low poor contact due high expansion of BSCF. melting point taken in this study an advantage bond electrolyte, mitigating with electrolyte. Furthermore, addition promotes catalytic activity demonstrated by experimental studies first-principles calculations, leading impressively BSCF-based cathodes H-SOFCs.

Proton-conducting Micro-solid Oxide Fuel Cells with Improved Cathode Reactions by a Nanoscale Thin Film Gadolinium-doped Ceria Interlayer

An 8 nm-thick gadolinium-doped ceria (GDC) layer was inserted as a cathodic interlayer between the nanoscale proton-conducting yttrium-doped barium zirconate (BZY) electrolyte and the porous platinum cathode of a micro-solid oxide fuel cell (μ-SOFC), which has effectively improved the cathode reaction kinetics and rendered high cell power density. The addition of the GDC interlayer significantl...

La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite cathode for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: A comparative study

In this study the characteristics of two different kinds of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 (LSCF) powders, one in-house synthesized powder by a co-precipitation method and another one purchased from Fuel Cell Materials Co. (FCM Co., USA), were compared. The co-precipitated powder was prepared by using ammonium carbonate as precipitant with a NH4+/NO3- molar ratio of 2 and calcination at 1000C for 1 h....

Evaluation of Bi2V0.9Cu0.1O5.35—an Aurivillius-Type Conducting Oxide—as a Cathode Material for Single-Chamber Solid-Oxide Fuel Cells

The compound Bi2V0.9Cu0.1O5.35, a typical Aurivillius-type fast oxygen ion conductor, was evaluated as a possible cathode material for single-chamber solid-oxide fuel cells operated under mixed propane and oxygen. The material was found to be structurally stable under various C3H8 O2 environments over a wide temperature range and furthermore displayed low catalytic activity for propane oxidatio...

Modeling of Proton-Conducting Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Fueled with Syngas

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) with proton conducting electrolyte (H-SOFCs) are promising power sources for stationary applications. Compared with other types of fuel cells, one distinct feature of SOFC is their fuel flexibility. In this study, a 2D model is developed to investigate the transport and reaction in an H-SOFC fueled with syngas, which can be produced from conventional natural gas o...
